Public Parks - map Elm Ridge Park - 101.5 acres Amenities include: Outdoor pool and wading pool, playscape, pavilion, gazebo, 1 softball field, 2 little league fields, volleyball, basketball, skatepark, ice skating, Veterans Memorial Amphitheater, and a Dog Park. The pavilion may be reserved on a first come, first served basis at the Parks and Recreation Office. While there is no fee for the rental, a $100 security deposit is required, and a certificate of insurance may be required for certain activities. Parks Reservation Procedures
Maxwell Park - 34 acres Amenities include: deck hockey, tennis, softball, soccer, picnicking, playground and gazebo. Sunnycrest Park Amenities include: soccer field, baseball field, and in the fall we install a second temporary auxillary soccer field. Ferry Park- 16.2 Acres Amenities include: picnic areas, boat launch and dock, handicap accessible fishing pier. Adjacent to the CT State Ferry, this park offers breathtaking views of the river. Quarry Park - 84.3 acres - Trail Map Photo 1, Photo 2 Quarry Park: An Illustrated Walkthrough provided by Gregory Pickett, Eagle Scout Candidate (9/2010) It is located in northeast Rocky Hill on a former trap rock quarry. It is bound by Old Main street to the west, an abandoned railroad property to the east, and residential properties to the south and north. Entrances are located on Old Main Street, across from Parsonage Street, or from the parking lot on Old Main Street on the corner of Matteson Avenue. The park offers passive and active recreational opportunities to the public such as hiking, bird watching, and views of the Connecticut River, Glastonbury and Hartford. This is a totally wooded park that offers short hikes in this compact area. Shipyard Park This relatively small corner lot on Riverview Road offers a view of the CT River and is perfect for an afternoon picnic.
