ParksThe Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for the planning, developing, improving and maintaining of the parks, the public grounds, the open space, and the athletic fields. Duties include mowing, routine tree and shrub pruning, landscaping design and plantings, performing a comprehensive turf management program, and maintaining the athletic fields. In addition, this unit is responsible for the Ferry Park boat launch, Elm Ridge Park, including the 75 Acres and amphitheater, Maxwell Park, and all other Parks in Town as well as the Rocky Hill High School pool, tennis courts, volleyball courts, basketball courts, amphitheater and the ice skating pond. Also, the unit assists the Highway Department with snow removal. The Tree Warden is also a responsibility of this Department.
